Glenbardie House is an attractive early 20th-century family home in Ballater, Royal Deeside, built by an Aberdeen shipowner and distinguished by its striking tall octagonal tower.
Combining traditional character with modern comfort, this spacious self-catering holiday home accommodates up to 12 guests across six beautifully appointed bedrooms, four of which are ensuite. With generous rooms throughout, everyone has space to relax and enjoy their own corner of the house.

Originally a shepherd’s shelter, Glenbardie Bothy has had a varied life over the years — later serving as a stable and garage before being thoughtfully renovated in 2010 into a cosy self-catering holiday cottage in Ballater, Royal Deeside.
Today, it offers a warm and welcoming retreat for couples, families, or small groups looking to explore the Cairngorm National Park and surrounding area.
The ground floor features a bright open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, along with a utility room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Designed for easy, comfortable living, it’s a relaxed space to gather after days spent outdoors.
Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms and a shower room, all reached via a beautifully handcrafted wooden staircase that adds to the character of the property.
Comfort is at the heart of the Bothy, with underfloor heating on the ground floor and electric radiators upstairs ensuring a cosy stay year-round — especially after long walks in the Highlands.
One well-behaved pet is welcome to stay free of charge, making Glenbardie Bothy an ideal dog-friendly holiday cottage in Royal Deeside.
